So yeah...
Yesterday I went to Circuit City and purchased my first Digital SLR. I had been shopping around for about a week and finally decided to break down for one. I checked out Best Buy earlier this week and they had a whole dSLR setup with financing. Though only one model had a $50 discount. I finally decided to go with CC since (I believe) the employees are paid by commission. Though that's usually a bad thing, it's a good thing for getting a good deal. They had a promo going on which included some firedog crap, a ... For Dummies book, and a printer. I didn't really need a printer so, even though it technically wouldn't cost me anything they threw in a 4GB SD Card and even lowered the price of the camera by $50 to match their online store. So yeah, sweet deal!
About the Camera
I went for the (new?)
Olympus E-420. It's somewhat of an entry-level camera and the price was just right for the features (around $550, lens included). I really love the size and weight. The last SLR I used was my Dad's old (like 10 years) Canon Rebel, and that was a huge heavy monster of a thing. But the E-420 is light and small supposedly the world's smallest. I love it. I love it.
What now?
It's really just a hobby for me but that's what I said about design. Now my life and job revolve around web (and some print) design. I'll be reading up on the
Dummies guide and perhaps some online articles. If you have any tips or suggestions for an SLR newb like me, please don't hesitate to comment.

I'll be posting some pics to
an old flickr account.
